I have seen a huge surge in questions over the last couple of weeks about Yoni Steam Baths. So I figured what better time than here and now to discuss them right?
I have found very conflicting information about where Yoni Steam Baths actually started. At the end of the day, this is an old midwife’s method that I live and breath every single menstrual cycle I am able to.
The concept behind this is to gather organically sourced herbs free of toxins, place them in a bowl of boiling water and create a sitz bath to safely sit upon.
Keep in mind the water is warm and make sure you sit high enough up that your vagina is not uncomfortable. You wrap blankets around the naked lower half of your body and allow the steam to absorb into your body through your vaginal opening.
You sit from 20 mins to no more than one hour.
What are the types of Herbs you should add to your Yoni Steam Bath?
If you would rather buy a premixed Yoni Steam Kit full of Wonderful Herbs:
I encourage you to check out the one from Luna Rain
On a personal note** I use to have really heavy cycles with thick clots lasting 7 miserable days of hell. I would have horrible cramps and hated having to move at all.
Since beginning my journey to better self-care practices, I’ve noticed my menstrual cycle has changed drastically. My cycles last about 3 maybe 4 days at most. My Diva Cup has much lighter blood flow and color and the cramps are much more bearable.
